Serving the Central Okanagan since 2004
A typical growing season includes the following turf maintenance services;

Weekly mowing and edging
On the same day each week, turf is mowed and edged; weather and long weekend permitting. Driveways, sidewalks and beds are vertically edged as needed (at minimum every second week)
Weed control
Turf is sprayed for broadleaf weeds twice during the season. The first spray happens when temperatures exceed 25°Celsius for maximum effectiveness.

Turf fertility
Turf is fertilized no less than five times during the growing season. Soil composition determines type and frequency of fertilizer.

Disease control
If fertility and weather do not control turf disease (ie: red thread, snow mold), customers can have a fungicide applied at an additional cost.

Debris removal
All sidewalks and driveways are blown free of grass clippings and leaves.
Strata residents are encouraged to leave yard waste in a curbside bin; Canada Landscape will empty bins weekly.

Spring and Fall cleanup
All tree and shrub litter is cleaned and removed from the property as soon as weather allows it.
All tree and shrub litter is removed from streets/drives and parking lots.

Aeration and Thatching
Turf is aerated in the fall to allow cores to break down over the winter. If client wishes, aeration can take place in the spring. Removal of thatch (power rake) takes place during spring clean-up. Ground thaw will determine exact date.

Plant and bed maintenance
All beds are kept weed free with the use of herbicides and mechanical weeding. On average, beds are sprayed with glyphosate (Round Up) every 3-4 weeks. Insecticidal soap is used to control most pests threatening trees and shrubs. Past seasons will determine if dormant oil is required for further pest control. Annual and perennial beds are maintained

Pruning
All shrubs are pruned during spring and fall clean-up. A mid-season prune begins in July. Trees are pruned up from the bottom to allow foot traffic and head room. Larger tree pruning is quoted as necessary. Large trees are pruned according to species and time of year.
